Having handed in her knives and received her room key, Jo made her way up to her new dorm room. Tossing her duffel onto the bed closest to the window, she started pulling out the supplies she needed to ward the room.

What? Just because Mom didn't want her hunting didn't mean she hadn't taught her that much at least.

[ooc: open! Especially if you're the roomie.]

Henry's feeling quite optimistic about Fandom. He was hoping for a place with enough chaos of its own to hide Edward. And as the rumors seem to be true, everything seems oddly safe.
He's [handwavily] missed his roommate assignment, so as he opened the door to his room, Henry was very eager to meet him-
-errr, her? Henry nearly drops his trunk.
"I'm terribly sorry! Do I have the right room?"

Henry looked back at the notebook where he scrawled down the room number. "Room 414." He checks the door number, which corresponds.
"Oh. I suppose this is right." He realized how rude he was being. "I'm Henry Jekyll."

Henry shook her hand, and tried to overcome the awkwardness by smiling. Sadly, his fake cheerfulness couldn't even fool himself, so he busied himself with unpacking, and took a shot at small talk.
"So, from where do you come?"

"London. Thought I'd get out of the country, expand my horizons." He started to put away his chemestry materials, but stopped for a moment when unloading his transformation potion, the HJ7. It needed a safe, inconspicuous spot.
being the genius he is, Henry chooses to place the case under his bed.

“Yes, I hope so.” Henry felt much better, once that the HJ7 was hidden. He proceeded to put away the rest of his chem equipment, then moved onto his clothing. As he hung up his shirts, he asked, “Why did you choose Fandom?”

Henry backpedaled quickly. He wasn’t supposed to single himself out. “Oh, well, it was something of a mutual decision. My coming here. I mean, if my parents had canned it, I wouldn’t be here!” He laughs nervously, trying to cover up the outburst.

Henry was very happy; he had a response to that. Huzzah for improving small talk skills! "At the welcome party yesterday, my "sibling" said that loads of odd things happen here. I'd heard some rumors, but I thought they were just tall tales."

Henry nodded in agreement. "At the risk of sounding foolish, I'm pretty excited to see what happens around here."

Henry takes on a confidential tone, as if someone could possibly be listening in on them. "I'm a little skeptical about the idea of "magic"" he made quotey fingers, "causing all of this, because there must be a rhyme and reason to most of it. However, I do think that the reasons behind everything, if not "magic,"" again, he made quotey fingers (he was quite fond of the gesture), "are at least extraordinary."

"Well, there are things outside our understanding, but I'm sure that someday science will be able to explain it all." Henry shrugs. "There are probably some undiscovered forces out there that account for everything that happens."

Or psycho alter-egos. Henry went back to unloading his clothing. "I've heard older students discuss magic classes, though, so maybe the teachers at Fandom have some kind of insight into the matter."

Nope. Henry had no idea about who she was talking. He looked up from the sweater vests and asked, "Who is he?"

Henry didn't like the sound of that one bit. A hunting teacher that uses magic?
"For what would he need that?" Henry cautiously asked. "Hunting magical creatures?"

To an observer, Henry might have looked a little pale. Or maybe it was just a trick of the light.
"Oh. Is there much call for a supernatual hunter around here?"

“Well, it’s good to know that there are people that can keep us safe.” Henry tried to steer the subject into safe waters. “I don’t know that many new students know the names of their teachers. Are you thinking about taking that class?”

Henry catches the “used to,” and knows better than to push the subject.
Unfortunately, Henry’s run out of conversation starters. Well, except for “Read any good books lately,” but that is amazingly not an option.
